ARTIST STATEMENT

My work delves into the intricacies of the human experience focusing on the themes of the everyday, alienation, time, and interpersonal relationships. Through the mediums of experimental video/film, performance and sound I explore the ways in which we (dis)connect to and from ourselves and each other in a rapidly shifting world. By creating immersive atmospheres through language, image and sound I strive to blur the lines between reality and fiction, past and future.

I often take on the role of the auto-fictional performer, embedding myself within the constructed multi-layered narratives and invite collaborators and peers to join me in this quest.

I wish to not only observe but to feel and question the world around me. In this sense, working on video footage and re-scripting narratives is my way of maintaining consciousness and communicating with the environment I live in.

Ultimately, I seek to bridge the internal and external and to offer a space for entering into a trance of associations and daydreams.
